Appliqué & Freestyle Machine Embroidery
Course InformationAppliqué - the art of applying one piece of fabric to another. Freemotion/Freestyle machine embroidery - is like drawing with a sewing machine. Please Note: Nearly all sewing machines can do this and it isn't as difficult as it looks. Course outline:- Day 1 Morning - Discover the various products which can be used to help apply one fabric to another, the style and stitch options, and how to sew neat satin stitch edges. Afternoon - We will cover a variety of ways of sewing 'freemotion'. Different styles, needle options and a variety of unusual decorative threads will be used for both outlining and 'filling in'. Day 2 Spend the day going through the process of designing your 'Owl Picture' (or your choice of design) You'll choose suitable fabrics, patterns and colours and then piece it together. With design and technical tips along the way, you'll achieve a very rewarding piece of art, which can be later made up into a cushion cover or bag etc. at home, or simply framed. 'I never dreamt I would be able to achieve that much. It's given me a lot more confidence in working with my sewing machine even after all these years of sewing! Many thanks' - Jill Course Dates: For next course dates please get in touch here |
